Evans Powell, 26, was apprehended by Stamford detectives about 4 p.m. Wednesday after the injured man drove to Stamford Hospital for treatment after being stabbed Tuesday night, said Lt. Tom Barcello.
Officers were able to receive enough information to identify the suspect and tracked him down quickly on Wednesday while he was in a car traveling down Cove Road and taken into custody without incident, Barcello said.
Police are not sure what the two men were arguing about, but they did know each.
Powell was charged with assault and carrying a dangerous weapon, Barcello said.
He is being held in lieu of a $500,000 court appearance bond.
